City tours

Why is Dresden called “Elb-Florence”?

What about the world cultural heritage here?

And is it true that the heart of August the Strong is still in the city?

Dresden offers a great variety of attractions, some of which you cannot reach by bus – for example the prince's procession the world’s biggest porcelaine picture. So why not take a tour with a rickshaw?
Our rickshaw-drivers know the city very well, as they’re out here almost every day.

the Old Town

Basics: the Old Town

Pedicab in front of the Semper Opera

In about 40 minutes we take you around to see famous Dresden buildings, such as Church of Our Ladies, the Castle, the Semper Opera and the Zwinger. We’ll drive to the Augustusbridge and show you the famous view of Canaletto. Along the way you’ll hear many interesting stories about August the Strong, sovereign of Saxony and king of Poland.

New Town

The New Town is north of the Elbe river and has a lot to offer: starting near the “Golden Rider” statue of August the Strong we’ll take you along Main and King street to see the Church of the Three Kings, the Market Hall until we get to the trendy district near Louisenstraße, with a lot of nice restaurants and interesting backyards. You won’t miss the nicest milk store of the world, “Pfund’s Molkerei”. This tour takes about 40 minutes.

Dresden Bridges

Starting on Augustus Bridge, the oldest in Dresden, you pass along the Elbmeadows to the “Blue Wonder”, an impressive steel bridge connecting the city parts Loschwitz and Blasewitz. Along the way we explain the three castles on the north side: Schloss Albrechtsberg, Lingnerschloss and Schloss Eckberg. You will also hear about the conflict about the not (yet?) existing Waldschlösschen Bridge, whose plans interfere with Dresden’s status as World Cultural Heritage of the UNESCO.

The Great Garden

Once an enfenced park, the Great Garden is now the main recreation area near the Old Town. Leaving the Old Market we’ll get past the Church of the Cross, the City Hall and enter the green in the Blüherpark, where you can see the Mozart fountain and the Hygiene museum. In the Great Garden we show you the the baroque Palais and the Botanic Garden next to the Glass Manufacture. You might see the park train passing and – if you want – we can go past the Dresden Zoo.
